Tom gets a book on catching a mouse (“How to Trap a Mouse,” published by Random Mouse) in the mail. In his vain attempts to rid the house of Jerry, he then tries every trick in the book, chapter after chapter, and they all backfire. In a most interesting move, Tom doesn’t shake off the damage like usual, and ends up more and more beaten up as the cartoon goes on. He blows off the hair on his head, and ends up with a red toupee. He chops off his tail, and it’s a bandage.
