Believing he has made Wilma and Betty disappear through magic, Fred capitalizes on his newfound freedom by taking Barney to a nightclub, the Rockland, where an old friend, trumpeter Hot Lips Hannigan, is performing. Fred sings a song (the Saints). The jazz is cool until the wives show up, under the guise of two “hep chicks,” to teach their wayward husbands a lesson. Hannigan tries to woo the girls with a sexily intoned, “Skiddly-wah-wah-WAH . . . contact!” to which Wilma responds by saying, “Here’s some contact,” and smashing him in the head.
