At the zoo, Hippety Hopper, a baby kangaroo, escapes from his cage to explore a bit. He finds Sylvester fishing for mice in his basement, using a piece of cheese as bait, and throwing them back when they’re too small. Hippety goes into the basement, and Sylvester pulls him from the mouse hole, thinking that he’s a giant mouse. Sylvester is thrown out and meets a bulldog, who yells at him for being afraid of a mouse. Sylvester rides Hippety like a bucking bronco, is thrown out, and is chased back in by the dog. Sylvester tries boxing Hippety, but is thrown out again, so the dog goes in, where he encounters the kangaroo’s mother.
