While out on a walk with his nephews, Scrooge McDuck is suddenly accosted by the police. It seems that Scrooge McDuck stole the priceless painting the ‘Duck Ala Orange’ from one of Flintheart Glomgold’s museums. In court, Launchpad and others try to clear Scrooge’s name, but the evidence seems to say otherwise: Launchpad ‘crashed’ him in the neighborhood of the museum the night of the incident, and there is even video footage of the crime! Scrooge is then sentenced to Aquatraz, an isolated prison. While there, he is made roommates with a hulking dog named Maddog McGirk. At first Scrooge is bullied around, but he soon becomes close friends with Maddog, proving that the hulking brute does have a heart. After Scrooge manages to get Maddog’s mother to visit him, McGirk stages a breakout for him and Scrooge. It is here that he reveals that a very rich duck tricked him into stealing some jewels. His description matches Glomgold to a tee! In the meantime, Huey Dewey and Louie have found an extra section of the tape that reveals that Glomgold dressed as Scrooge and impersonated him on tape! With this new evidence, Scrooge is released, as well as McGirk. Glomgold is none too happy, but the wrongly accused McGirk is overjoyed to be free again.
