Sam Sheepdog punches in for work (relieving the night dog, Fred), counts the sheep, and sets about his job of watching them. Ralph Wolf does all that he can do to catch a sheep, and Sam seems to do nothing, yet he prevents every theft. Ralph’s first attempt at getting at the flock consists of speeding the time clock so that Ralph has lunch and goes home at 9 a.m.! Next, Ralph carries a lamb off to a bush, but he gets followed and clobbered by Sam.
