Answering a newspaper ad, Tom heads for a big-city penthouse to become acquainted with Toodles, a rich (having inherited a million dollars), pretty white kitten who lives there and is looking for a companion. Tom shows up with flowers, and Toots is pleased. He also brings her Jerry as a gift, and does some humiliating things to Jerry (Tom makes Jerry do tricks and sing some Jolson songs for Toots). Jerry, in turn, attracts the attention of black cat Butch, who also becomes interested in Toodles. Jerry shows the ad to Butch. Now, Tom has competition. It eventually turns into a fight between Tom and Butch for the lady’s hand, but Jerry is the one who gets her in the end.
